Camron Jefferson raced out to an early lead and finished as the SEK runner-up in the boys varsity race. The boys and girls teams both finished in 3rd place with Ft. Scott winning on both sides.
In the girls varsity division Rebeccah Jones lead the way as she earned ALL-SEK honors by finishing in 10 place with a time of 22:36. Makayla Keller (15th, 23:23) and Kara Frech (18th, 23:50) earned SEK Honorable Mention. Rounding out the other scorers for Pittsburg were Lola Southard (22nd, 24:04), Athenna Jones (27th, 24:46) and Sydney Nicklaus (36th, 27:35).
The boys varsity team was lead by Camron Jefferson’s 2nd place finish (17:36) earning in All-SEK honors. AJ Ortiz (12th, 18:45), Cole Jameson (13th, 18:46), and Homer Urias (19th, 19:21) all earned SEK Honorable Mention. Abe Alonso (33rd, 20:44), and Judah Powers (38th, 20:56) also had good races for PHS.
The girls team finish in 3rd place by Ft. Scott and Independence and the boys team finish in third place behind Ft. Scott and Coffeyville.
The JV boys team was lead by Jonathan Howard’s 3rd place finish in 20:42. Pittsburg’s other JV runners were Austin Garzone (18th, 22:50), Jourdain Granere (19th, 22:59), Jervel Weathersby (20th, 23:06), and Tate Perona (28th, 24:46).
JV girls were lead by Tana Luther in 11th with a time of 30:06.
