AFTER A YEAR OF WAITING,(AND COUNTLESS HOURS IN SUMMER WEIGHTS AND CONDITIONING) THE 8TH GRADE FOOTBALL TEAM FINALLY GOT THEIR CHANCE TO AVENGE THE 32-0 LOSS THEY TOOK AS 7TH GRADERS AGAINST RIVAL FT. SCOTT. AND THEY DID SO, IN MAJOR LEAGUE FASHION!! THEY CAME OUT AND POUNDED THE SHELL SHOCKED TIGERS , 40-6, BEHIND A POTENT GROUND GAME AND A SMOTHERING DEFENSE.
THE OFFENSE, ONCE AGAIN, WAS LED BY RUNNING BACK CONNER PROFFITT, WHO SCORED FOUR TOUCHDOWNS ON RUNS OF 60 YARDS, 2 YARDS, 13 YARDS AND 3 YARDS.. STONE PEERY ADDED A 48 YARD TD RUN AND NATE MITCHELL ADDED A 20 TD RUN. GABE KIMZEY ADDED TWO 2PT CONVERSIONS.
THE DEFENSE GOT TWO INTERCEPTIONS, ONE FROM PROFFITT AND ONE FROM DEFENSIVE LINEMAN DAINE CREAMER. STONE PEERY ALSO RECOVERED A FUMBLE.
THE 4-0 DRAGONS WILL TRAVEL TO CHANUTE THURDAY AFTERNOON WITH A SHORTHANDED CREW (INJURIES AND QUARNTINES) TO TAKE ON THE ROCKETS FOR THE SECOND TIME THIS YEAR. THE DRAGONS WERE ABLE TO HOLD ON T0 AN 18-14 VICTORY IN THE FIRST CONTEST.
