Meet Recap

The dragon girls golf team finished in second place as a team at the 5A regionals held at Crestwood Country Club. Pittsburg four man team consisted of Samantha Maceli, Jamie VanWyck, Lauren Valenzuela and Hannah Holloman shooting a 366 total beating out Blue valley Southwest by sixteen strokes. Andover HS shot a 328 for first place lead by senior Haley Jones with a +3 over par 75. Other Andover players making up their four man team were Baylee Bloom with an 83, Shauna Lee with an 85 and Tiffany Chan with an 85.
Two Dragons placed in the top ten medalists group with Samantha Maceli placing 3rd with an 84 and Lauren Valenzuela finished in 8th place with a 92. Hannah Holloman and Jamie Van Wyck each shot a 95 which earned them 12th place.
This entire season has been wonderful. It has been a goal of mine to get a team of girls to qualify for 5A state and the Sam, Jamie, Lauren and Hannah got the job done today. I am so very proud of them on how they played today.

Game Recap

The Junior Varsity Volleyball team took 1st place in their home tournament going 5-0 on the day!

In pool play the dragons beat Baxter Springs 25-15, 25-9 Southeast 25-13, 22-25, 15-7 and Frontenac 26-24, 27-25

In the semi-finals the Dragons took a hard fought match against St. Mary’s Colgan winning 25-11, 17-25, 18-16

The Championship game was against Labette County and the girls won that match 25–23, 25-7

For the tournament Madden Petty led the way with 44 kills and 13 aces. Reagan Burdick had 36 kills, Izzie Pinamonti had 20 kills and 5 aces, Mallory McThompson had 121 assists and 5 aces, and Leah Wescott had 16 kills and 6 aces going 51-53 on her serves. Maggie Francis had 6 aces and went 48-53 on her serves.

Game Recap

The Junior Varsity remains unbeaten after a very tough road win for the dragons. The girls beat Paola 25-15 and 29-27

Madden Petty led the way with 6 kills for the match, to go along with her 8-10 with 3 aces serving performance. She also had 2 blocks

Reagan Burdick finished the night with 5 kills and 2 blocks as well.
Mallory McThompson had 14 assists for the match along with 2 blocks.

As a team we only missed 5 serves the whole night going 45 for 50. This match and especially the second set was a hard fought battle. The girls did a great job of keeping up their intensity and energy as well as playing smarter than they have all year. It was a great match to be a part of.

Game Recap

The PCMS 8th grade Dragons remains undefeated with a 52-6 victory over Chanute Thursday night at Hutchinson Field.
The Dragons were led once again by running back Caiden Barber who for the second consecutive week, scored four rushing touchdowns. Grant Roelfs also added a couple touchdowns and a 2 point conversion. Quarterback, Cooper Hayden, threw a 15 yard touchdown pass to tight end, Braden Benson, to add to his 10 touchdown passes for the season. Cam Jefferson and Matt Smith, each scored a two point conversion. Defensively, the Dragons got fumble recoveries from Brock Bowman and Tyler Sutton. The defense also recorded a safety.

The 7th grade Dragons didn’t fare as well, losing to Chanute 0-46

Pittsburg JV took the first match against Parsons 25-5 and 25-12.

For the match Reagan Burdick had 8 kills followed by Leah Wescott with 4 kills.
Mallory McThompson had 15 assists and went 17-17 in serving which included 8 aces.

Pittsburg JV took the last match in a hard fought battle against Fort Scott 21-25, 25-21, 15-8

Madden Petty led the way with 7 kills followed closely by Reagan Burdick and Izzie Pinamonti each having 6 kills a piece.

Mallory McThompson had 23 assists and again had a great game serving going 13-14 with 2 aces. Leah Wescott also had a great serving run this match going 14-14.
