The wrestling team opened their second half of the season at the Louisburg tournament. It’s a nice tournament to start off with. We started the morning missing 113 lb. Freshman Wil Jameson, 120 lb. Reece Watson Sophomore and 220 lb Deveron Duncan SR. due to illness or injury. Edger Montalongo Sr. filled in at 220 and ended the day with a second place finish. Edger is tough and when he gets his opportunity to step in the varsity lineup , he rises to the challenge. Other standout performances, Joseph Tallie taking 2nd with a 1-0 loss in the finals, Wes Jameson finishing his, and Corbyn Russel finishing 2nd. We will need these three and others to step up at regionals and state. As this month progresses the wrestlers will need to continue to elevate their game. We enter next Friday and Saturday at Basehor tournament. Arguably the toughest tournament in KS. Then follow it up with a two day tournament in Owasso, OK.
