Meet Recap

The 5A Regional Tournament, originally scheduled for Monday May 15 was rescheduled for Tuesday May 16th due to a scheduling conflict for the host team. The 5A Regionals was hosted by KC Turner High School and was played at Tomahawk Hills GC in Shawnee, KS.

The dragons qualified two individuals for the 5A state tournament in Salina next Monday, May 22 at Salina Municipal GC. Senior Corbin Russell shot a 46 – 44 = 90 and Freshman Steve Maceli shot a 40 + 50 = 90. The two dragons qualified as the five best scores after the top 3 teams qualified. Other individuals who qualified for state were two from Lancing with an 87 and a 90 and a golfer from Leavenworth with a 97.

Other dragons on the day were Logan Wiske with a 99, Ely Parks with 101, and Keenan Bishop and Mat Thompson each with 114.

The Dragons finished 4th with a score of 380. Their highest team score of the season by 6 strokes. In first place was OP St. Thomas Aquinas with a 311, In second place was OP Blue Valley Southwest
with a 337 and in 3rd was Shawnee – Mill Valley with a 349. Other teams competing today were Lansing with 406, Leavenworth with 449 and KC Turner with 564.
