Meet Recap

Dragon Girls Golf Team finished the Girard Invitational 18 hole golf tournament in first place. Play was stopped after two holes due to lightening, but resumed about 45 minutes later. The dragons finished with a score of 393 using Valenzuela – 96, Lopez – 96, Van Wyck – 98 and Lord – 103 to beat Caney Valley who finished at 395. Frontenac finished with a team total of 419, Girard with a 445.

Individual honors were awarded to Lauren Valenzuela with 4th and a 96, Gracie Lopez also with a 96 for 5th and Jamie Van Wyck for 6th place with a 98. Logan Lord lost tenth place to a score card count back.

We are pretty excited for our team. The individual efforts are great and the team finishes this week with both being first place is just so awesome. We are focusing on scoring better on the course this season than we did last season. We improved twenty-seven strokes this year at Girard from last season.

Honestly, I was unaware of this, but apparently Caney Valley has not lost a tournament tiltle in two years and we beat them today. DPKA golfers!
